This unique vessel was found among the treasures that lie within the antique shops of Lisbon, Portugal. It was handcrafted in Istalif, Afghanistan, a village that has been famous for its ceramics for over 300 years. The most unique feature of Istalif-made ceramics is the special glaze that is applied to the finished pieces. The beautiful green glaze is made of ishkar, a type of mountain plant that only grows in certain northern provinces, and was central to the development of this distinctive ceramic tradition.
- Good vintage quality, small irregularity in the glaze at the base of the vessel.
- Water test before use.
- Due to the delicate nature, all vintage is final sale.
