These sweet Victorian Era earrings are the perfect delicate touch with a lovely history. A simple addition to your collection dating back to the late 1800s. The garnet is also the birthstone for our January babies.
The word garnet comes from the Latin "granatum" meaning seed-like. Early scientists thought that the color and shape of garnets in rock crystal resembled pomegranate seeds. The garnet is known to be used in jewelry making across eras and cultures including Egypt, Czechoslovakia, India, Russia, Africa and Mexico, dating as far back to the Bronze Age.
